29th Nov. 2002 was  proud day for Janarth. of the 9 disabled contestants who represented Janarth in 
National Abilympics in Delhi, 5 came back winners, bringing 3 Gold and 2 Silver medals. The Gold medallists were Narayan Bhagwat - Photography, Darshan Kshirsagar - Chess and Jitendra Patil - DTP. The Silver medallists were Abha Samvastar - Poster Designing and
Samiksha Deshpande - Crochet.

The Bal Jatra - the two day annual sports and cultural meet. A meeting point for over 2000 school children from the Block. Girls equal boys in participation.

Mr. Chandrakant Khaire, the guardian Minister addressing children at the Mela. Impressed by the enthusiastic participation, promised to open sports  centers in villages.

A little help to Std X students, gives them the confidence to dream of a better future, a higher education. Volunteer teachers from the city help them in how to prepare for them. The 10th Std results enthused the teachers to want to continue the programme.
Exposure and togetherness  - a necessity on the path towards realizing  'Women's Empowerment'. A group of village women at the Gateway of India, Mumbai - standing at the gateway to their actualization. Our present women leaders have emerged from among this group.
Village meetings have been at the center of all Janarth activity planning. A consultative meeting in progress at Shirasgaon village.
Work among the urban poor is an emerging activity. Learnings from our rural work reflect here. Women are part of the decision making process from the beginning. A meeting in progress of representatives of urban poor localities in the Janarth office.
A consultative process of another kind - PRA in progress in Babargaon.
The inauguration of the Janarth Agro Processing Unit at Maliwadgaon village. The driving force is the thinking that we need to enter the market on behalf of the poor so that they get a fair deal. 
A water conservation structure at Ambegaon village. This is the last step in the soil and water conservation programme and is preceded by land contouring and gully plugging which prevents soil runoff. The effects of such small dams are dramatic as wells get recharged
Contour bunds on fields - the land owner himself participates in this work. Such work helps land levelling at low cost while conserving rich top soil.

The Marketing and Warehouse Project - the challenge accepted to get a higher and fairer price to the farmers for their agricultural produce. Photograph of the Janarth Warehouse at the Marketing center in Gangapur town - the Block head quarter.
The Community based Rehabilitation of the disabled. A project which caters to the individual therapeutic needs of the disabled in their villages. Bringing a smile to numerous children and their families who thought the disability and dependence was for life. 


Dnyaneshwar Kurhade, of Pol Ranjangaon, before and after the corrective surgery, the effects of which the father was skeptical about till Dnyaneshwar was able to help him with the ploughing like any normal boy!
